Arrive in Ann Arbor

Our trip to Detroit was mostly uneventful. We did have a delay when leaving Atlanta. Once we were boarded the Captain announces that maintenance has to change a part on the breaks. We had to sit at the gate for hour while they worked on the plane. Since Delta served us red wine while we waited - it was not a problem.

The couple sitting next to us were on their way to Seattle for a two week cruse to Alaska. It turns out the Husband is retired after teaching for 25 years at various colleges in Georgia. He was born in Crowley and raised in Abbeville – small world.

We checked two bags when departing Lafayette and yes only one showed on carousel 10 with the rest of the luggage from our flight. We reported our loss to the missing baggage claim office. The claim office scanned the bar code from our claim stub and our bag was reported to be on carousel 8. Sure enough there it was.

Off to Enterprise car rental. Seems they did not have the car we reserved so we were upgraded at no additional charge. Thumbs up for Enterprise.

We drove the 20 or so miles to Landry’s apartment. He had the place cleaned up for us – glad we did not see it before he “cleaned”. We visited for a short while then off to dinner downtown. Ann Arbor has a wonderful downtown area with lots of nice bars and restaurants. Most restaurants have tables outside on the sidewalk. Since the temps are in the mid 70’s it is very pleasant.

After Dinner and Beer we were done!

See ya tomorrow.
