Ann Arbor 2013

September 2013

Ann Arbor Michigan

Landry offered Debi and I our pick of any UM game from his season tickets.

We choose Michigan - Notre Dame !

Happy Football Fans

If you are a College football fan you know how big this game is to the teams and the fans.  For what ever the reason Notre Dame has chosen not to continue to play Michigan going forward.  This was the last time they will meet in the Big House and next year will be the last scheduled game between these schools.  The attendance was recorded at 117,374 - the largest crowd ever to attend a College football game.

The small Township of Plymouth is one of the places we like to stay while visiting Michigan.  It is very clean town with beautiful well maintained old homes on tree lined streets.  There is an active town square where the locals shop and dine.  Unfortunately we timed our visit with one of the many festivals held in the square.

Since we could not dine in the Plymouth square the staff at the hotel recommended we try the another Township just down the road.

Northville  Michigan is just as beautiful as Plymouth.

Rather than dine in Northville we choose the continue on to Ann Arbor and dine at the Gandy Dancer

One of the greatest things about going to a game at the Big House is the tailgating.  I know LSU has a great tailgate crowd but the Michigan fans do not tailgate in a parking lot.  No,  they tailgate on a GOLF COURSE!!!

The pin is where we parked.  As you can see the stadium is a short walk away.
Cars are parked along and in the fairways.

Lots of kids playing in the fairways.

Greens and sand traps are off limits.

Only if you saw the game two years ago would you appreciate this graph.

It was a great game and Michigan prevailed.

Debi and I made our way back to Detroit and spent the night near the airport.  We have a noon flight and were home by 5:30. - GREAT TRIP !!!!
