2011 SEC Championship

LSU 42  UGA 10

Debi and I joined the Traveling Tigers for the 2011 SEC Conference Championship Game.  We arrived at the BR airport at 7:30 am Friday for an 8:30 departure.
Tigers load up for the trip to Atlanta.

The direct charter flight to Atlanta arrived around 10:30 eastern.  We transferred to the buses for the trip to our hotel.

Our group and LOTS of other Tigers stayed at the Westin Hotel in downtown Atlanta.  After we settled in,  Debi and I enjoyed lunch at the Sun Dial Restaurant located on the 72nd floor of the Westin.  It is a revolving restaurant with fabulous views of Atlanta.

After lunch we toured around the Hotel then turned in for a quick nap.  Later we hit the street for awhile, having dinner at Rays in the city.  We closed out our evening with a lovely but cold carriage ride through downtown.

Saturday Morning started with a text from Jennifer and Peter Guerriero letting us know they were coming to the game.  We agreed to try to meet up with them after the game.  Debi and I walked over to centennial park to check out the game day set.  When we walked out the door there was a Christmas Parade going on.

Next we headed over to the patio bar at Ruth's Chris to meet up with Marcia and Doug Roe, our friends from Blue Ridge.

Dogs and Cats can get along !

After a few Bloody Mary's
we joined 100,000 other fans in a walk over to fan fair.  The place was packed.  Doug and Marcia continued to fan fair while Debi and I detoured to the Alumni-TAF tailgate.

Now its game time.  We had lower level end zone seats.  Not a bad seat at all, however we did have to stand for ever play.

The first half was a bit painful.  The Honey Badger sparks the Tigers and that's all it took.  Wow what a great second half.

Here's a few post game photos.

Sunday Morning we reported to our buses at 7:30 and quickly off to the airport.  We had a slight delay at the Airport.  Seems the Royal Prince of Saudi Arabia arrived just as we were ready to off load.  They held us on the buses for awhile so not to disrupt the Royal Prince.
